Organised by Britain’s ‘ace drummin’ man’, John Petters, the event features some of the top performers in the UK
. Live celebrations of such musical icons as Louis Armstrong, Fats Waller, George Lewis and Benny Goodman will be offered, as well as a session of hymns and spirituals, New Orleans style and a selection of stomps blues and rags from the days of Storyville, Prohibition and the Chicago gangster controlled speakeasys.

In addition those great songs by Gershwin, Berlin, Porter, Carmichael and Ellington will be recreated in “Swinging Down Memory Lane”.
Featured in the line-ups will be Australian jazz stars, Karl Hird (clarinet and tenor saxophone) and slap double bass legend, Annie Hawkins.
Sharing the clarinet and saxophone tasks will be the incredibly talented Julian Marc Stringle, featured sidekick of the late George Melly.

Stride piano professor, Dave Browning will interpret anew, the Harlem style of the exuberant Thomas ‘Fats’ Waller, who gave the world such song hits as ‘Honeysuckle Rose’ and ‘Ain’t Misbehavin’’.

Hot cornet star, Allen Beechey has led his own ‘Bright Stars of Jazz’ for the past decade. A specialist in the Chicago Dixieland style of his hero, Wild Bill Davison, Allen has no trouble in turning his talents in the direction of the great ‘Satchmo’ Armstrong.
Bassist, Keith Donald has worked with all the major stars of British jazz and like Tim Phillips, is a natural, self taught musician, who knows exactly the right notes to play - intuitively.

As Well as the live music, there will be a chance to test your knowledge with the ‘Jazz Quiz’, a fun Jazz Forum’, where a panel of musicians will be played a selection of recordings blindfold and asked to name performers.
A Jazz lecture, looking at the life and music of American jazz drumming pioneer, Gene Krupa, will be presented by John Petters.
